Clinton Fixes Mt. Rushmore

I despise politics with all the bickering and allegations.  When I think of all the money that is spent (money that could be used to feed hungry and homeless children) to make commercials to rip the other guy, it makes me sick.  Millions and millions of dollars just thrown away.  Okay, off my soapbox...
This piece of Bill Clinton adding his face to Mt. Rushmore was accomplished by cutting out layers of various mat boards.  I broke a ton of x-acto knives on this one!

Brandywine Fountain

This fountain is near the entrance to the Brandywine Zoo in Wilmington, Delaware.  Zoom in for a look at the intricate carvings on the pedestal.

Rare Keister Wood

This wood is so rare, I discovered it in my clay oven yesterday!  It is made of Premo polymer clay and is 3 1/2 inches long.  Hope you enjoy this most exciting discovery!

Father's Day

I know it's a little early for Father's Day, but it seemed like the perfect name for this piece.  This is digital marquetry, accomplished by scanning wood veneers and putting it together in Photoshop.  My other digital marquetry projects were based on photos.  This one was an old drawing that was originally supposed to be used for my paper art, but I never finished it.

Bumblebee Poison Frog

Known in the hobby as a "Leuc", Dendrobates Leucomelas, or the Yellow-banded Poison Frog is a very healthy frog and easy to keep as long as you keep those fruit flies going.  Some people call these frogs Bumblebee Poison Frogs, a name that's a bit more colorful.  This one is definitely more colorful sitting in a black and white background.

Bison WIP

I did this sketch over a year ago with the intention of making a paper sculpture.  But polymer clay projects took over and this drawing was shelved.  Looking through some of my unused art, I thought this would make a good digital marquetry piece.  This work in progress will be finished sometime next week.

Orchid Petal

Tater says, "Dad?  Do hamburger buns grow out of the ground?"  I replied that buns don't come out of the ground.  Then Tater says, "Well, I think mine did because it has seeds on it."

Tater found this on the floor at the grocery store, so I took a pic of it.
